When you don't get enough fluid, the colon pulls water from stools to maintain hydration resulting to constipation. That's also one reason why we need to be hydrated as always, because it keeps things flowing along our GI tract and prevents constipation.
Fiber together with enough amount of fluid, acts like a broom to keep your bowel functioning properly. It willl not only prevent constipation but helps your inside clean.
The formula for how much water you should be drinking:
Step 1: Take your weight (in lbs) and divide it by 2.2.
Step 2: Multiply that number by your age.
Step 3: Divide that sum by 28.3.
Step 4: Your total is how many ounces of water you should drink each day.
Step 5: Divide that number by eight to see your result in cups.
Now that you already know the importance of being hydrated, also the amount of water you need to drink every day. It is better if you keep in mind that WATER acts as fuel to us and never ever have a day of not take in any fluids. Discipline is the key to keep us healthy.
