Some people these days will do anything just to draw attention from public. Others would even do the impossible just to get thousand of likes on facebook or instagram. They even want their uploaded pictures or video to go viral and get tons of shares as well.
In Algeria, a father of a young toddler actually did the unimaginable things just to get 1000 likes on Facebook. He held his 2-year-old son by his shirt outside his apartment window from a 15th floor building and it seems like he was holding his son using his left hand while his other hand (right hand) was holding a camera toh capture the special moment. wheeeww!!! It must be a breathtaking scenario.
He posted “1,000 likes or I will drop him.”
I couldn't understand how on earth could a father put his own child in danger just to draw attention from netizens. As a father he is supposed to protect his own child from harm and not to put him at-risk. Crazy isn't it?
Anyways, his effort has paid-off. He indeed got what he wanted he becomes an instant celebrity and got tons of furious comments from enraged Netizens.
One Netizen reported him and demanded that he should be prosecuted. “This man should be brought to justice and punished in the most severe way,” said activist Ali Ben Jeddou. A media activist Dalila Belkheir said “not a father but a terrorist.” Then, another netizen commented “ “What is most striking is that it appears that the father is carrying his son with his left hand while using his right hand to take the picture, this means the picture is more important than the child’s life.”
He also captured the heart of authorities in Algeria. He was taken to court in Algiers and prosecuted. On June 19 (just a day after father’s day), the judges sentenced the man to two year in prison.
According to New Arab report, Psychologist Dr. Noura Rahmani said “such images and actions must not be tolerated, especially in our Algerian society, where crime is rampant.”
So Netizens the lesson we could learn from this is “Be careful what you what you wish for” . otherwise prepare for a serious consequences.
